At Centre dentaire Fancelli, our dentists perform tooth extractions and wisdom teeth removal when a tooth cannot be saved or is causing issues for your oral health.
What is a Tooth Extraction?
A tooth extraction is the removal of a tooth from its socket in the bone. At Centre dentaire Fancelli, our dentists perform extractions only when a less invasive option would be ineffective, or if keeping the tooth will compromise your oral health.
Common reasons for pulling a tooth include excessive tooth damage and problematic wisdom teeth. Teeth are also sometimes pulled to prepare for other dental procedures.
Minor Surgeries
Minor surgeries are performed by our dentists and include the following procedures:
- Simple extraction
- Wisdom teeth included
- Biopsy
- Pre-prosthetic
- Exposure impacted tooth (ortho)
- Frenectomy
- Apicoectomy
Wisdom Tooth Extractions
Wisdom teeth are the last set of molars to appear in adulthood, between the ages of 17 and 25. They are located at the back of the dental arch.
This third set of teeth is not always functional and can cause displacement by putting pressure on the other teeth as they grow.
Wisdom teeth can also create problems with oral hygiene. Therefore, your dentist may recommend extracting them.
